Fiscal Court Accepts Salt Bid for Upcoming Fiscal Year

SHELBYVILLE, KY.
Shelby County Judge-Executive Rob Rothenburger announces
the decision of the fiscal court to accept the bid for
road salt for the upcoming 2009-2010 fiscal year. Road
Supervisor Carl Henry made the recommendation to the
court at Tuesdays, June 16th meeting to
accept the bid from Cargill at a price of $71.29 per
ton.
Judge Rothenburger
states, “We are pleased with the bids we received this
year. Last year the price of salt went for $120.42 per
ton, and this year the price has settled back down to
$71.29, resulting in a solid savings for the county.”
The Shelby County Road
Department contracted for 1500 tons of salt for the
upcoming winter season.
