Fiscal Court Accepts Salt Bid for Upcoming Fiscal Year

SHELBYVILLE, KY.  Shelby County Judge-Executive Rob Rothenburger announces the decision of the fiscal court to accept the bid for road salt for the upcoming 2009-2010 fiscal year.  Road Supervisor Carl Henry made the recommendation to the court at Tuesdays, June 16th meeting to accept the bid from Cargill at a price of $71.29 per ton.

Judge Rothenburger states, “We are pleased with the bids we received this year.  Last year the price of salt went for $120.42 per ton, and this year the price has settled back down to $71.29, resulting in a solid savings for the county.”

The Shelby County Road Department contracted for 1500 tons of salt for the upcoming winter season.
