As our motto states, "Good Land, Good
Living, Good People", Shelby County, located in the
heart of the Bluegrass, is rich in tradition and
history. The western half of Shelby County is
known for its Saddlebred horse farms that are visited by
thousands of individuals each year. The eastern
half of Shelby County is known for its agricultural
endeavors and innovations.
Shelby County is very fortunate to
be located in the "Golden Triangle" which refers to the
geographic area of Louisville, Lexington, and
Cincinnati. This makes Shelby County very
lucrative to economic opportunities from a manufacturing
and distribution standpoint. We are able to boast
one of the lowest unemployment rates in the state.
